Armin Hoffman was very decisive in this poster when he decided to juxtapose the photographic element with the text. The dot over the "I" in particular draws a curious sense of ambiguity—does it belong to the figure or the type? Certainly it belongs to the type, although the photograph does possess similar visual elements that may lend the viewer to think otherwise.
