7) Less is More

A cover for a book about 9/11 might have been illustrative or photographic. This cover, however, is covered with a high-contrast serif typeface, colored red. The designer, Milton Glaser, colored the main strokes of the F and the E black, subtly implying the twin towers. The colors black and red add a sense of death and danger to the design.
